So Many Rugs, So Little Time

Boy oh boy. have I been neglecting this blog.  I am so busy getting ready for theholidayartsale.com that I can hardly turn around.  Here is our postcard for the sale this year.  Here are some of my new creations.  Busy, busy!

It is a time of thanks as well here at the Airporch.
Thankful for all we have and for being able to live a productive and happy life.  I am truly blessed to be able to love my work and love my hobbies as I do.
Count your blessings every day!

A New Thing?

It has always been about color.  Last Christmas when in Taos, I talked my friend Julie, who has Taos Fiber Arts with her daughter/partner Ashley, out of these cool Xmas ornaments she had wound up from Pendleton Blanket Selvedges.  I unwound them this week and made this rug.  It is actually pretty cool.  I had been growing somewhat tired of weaving my looper rugs every year for The Holiday Art Sale and now I have a new kind of different rug from those I see around this area.  I am eagerly looking forward to a new bunch of Pendleton selvedges coming my way.  Who knows? These may become a new staple in my easy care throw rugs.

(the ends will be sewn under and I will post a good picture when they are)

Going to the Birds

I am playing around with my camera.  Trying to take candid bird shots at the common public birdbath and feeder.

I Think I Have Figured It Out

Lincoln wool from Mora Valley Spinning Mill

Which weavings are going, I mean..to the show at Ghost Ranch, near Abiquiu, New Mexico with my weaving guild, Art Through The Loom.  The show opens July 16th and the opening reception is Saturday, July 20th, and I am going to be there.  I have tried to be more active with the guild as our hopes still lie with our plan to retire to Taos, New Mexico in a few years.  I became  the webmaster for the group just about a year ago and I really like doing the webpage.   I have made some friends and I hope, have opened up some doors and opportunities.  I feel really blessed and honored to be able to show with such talented weavers and fiber artists.

Flower Power

It's Spring in Arkansas and it's my favorite time for all of my flowers(for now).  Irises abound in my yard and not to mention my straw bale broccoli is looking pretty good, eh?  The peony garden down the road is having their big Mother's Day Peony Party tomorrow and that is a big deal around here.  Can't wait!
