Straw Bale Gardening

conditioning

ready for the first night

first day

second day
We have been gardening our little piece of dirt here for the past 10 years.  Not very successful lots of the time, successful some and others so-so.  I came across this book online, Straw Bale Gardening and ordered it and here you go.  We planted this weekend and we are eagerly awaiting to see if it turns out well.  Lookin' Good!     strawbalegardens.com

Printmaking Class

Yesterday I went to a printmaking class at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art with my husband.  Here are the results.  We had fun and learned a lot.  I bet you can tell which one is his and which one is mine.

With the March Winds ...

I still really can't get the hang of how to insert pics in this blog and be able to do what I am trying to do.  You would think that after all this time it would get easier, but it does not.  Once you have one thing mastered, well, you know what I mean...I wish I could really show you how this simple rug is really so striking.  There is no way that these pictures show you how the colors vibrate.  I have to thank my very good friend again for this wonderful yarn.  It brings me so much pleasure and I hope it will also bring some pleasure to someone else as a rug.

Two Down Churro to Go

Just finished both of these up today.  I love these color combos. This is Lincoln wool from The Mora Valley Spinning Mill/Tapetes de Lana.  The way this yarn takes on color is so fine.  Shimmering... a life of it's own.  Now to get back to work on the Churro rug...

Happy Valentine's Day

It is February 14th.  That means Spring is really about a month from now, but there are signs of it everywhere here.  My Lenten Rose is covered with blooms and my hyacinths are fat and juicy.  Projects on the looms are coming alive and life really is very good.
