Socks, Hawks and Felt

What do any of these have in common? Well, two are fiber related and all were done here in Wedington Woods. Two were done with my trusted cohort in fiber Fibertwin. I could not have done it without her, either the sock or the felting. How grand to have friends to jump into fiber fun with. She basically has showed me over the last 10 days how to actually knit and complete a sock. No more half finished cuffs lying around my stash. they are out and pairs are going to be in! As for the felting, that was a blast, too. New pathways in fiber. Get it wet and make it felt instead of whoops I messed up. And the hawk, he is a youngster that lives in the woods around here. I just could not resist a shot or two. Amazed I was able to get them.

Ahhhh...a break from the everyday

We had a quick trip to our favorite place in the world last week. New Mexico. Taos area to be exact. We had a great time and were able to kick back and just be. Here are a few shots...

Thankful

For quiet peaceful days like this. Wintry weather and the comfort of home. The sunset this evening was the perfect ending to a lovely day.

New Holiday Art Sale Rugs

Ta da! Here are a few interesting rugs. I could not figure out what to do with some bits and pieces and some off-color loopers I had, but then inspiration and all these late fall colors spurred a muddy color palette that turned out pretty well. It is hard to photograph these colors. They are very nice when I shoot them on the deck in the nice outside light, but when it transfers to the monitor it does not do them justice.

It Is Getting to Be That Time of Year Again..

The Block Street Holiday Art Sale that is. In just a few short weeks I will be selling my wares with 11 others at Mike Shirkey's Goodfolk Music House in Fayetteville Akansas. It is the 1st weekend of December. It is a really fun event and most of us involved work all year at getting our work ready for everyone to see.

Loopers are the rugs that sell best for me though my heart is really in the wool rugs and tapestries. I've gone in another direction this year to try to make things a little different from the usual. Here are the results so far.
